Jaden didn’t understand why he had to go stay with his grandfather in North Carolina. The people in his neighborhood who got shot had been mad at each other. They weren’t people he knew. Mom knew Jaden was not interested in the type of stuff those boys were up to. What he was really into lately was reptilians. According to GlizzyGoebbels420, some people who appeared to be humans were actually reptilian shapeshifters from another world. Jaden’s grandfather didn’t approve of the shapeshifters. Actually, he didn’t approve of Jaden being on his phone at all, but he still let him use it as much as he wanted, left him alone in his new room with it, as long as Jaden agreed to come to church with him on Sundays and read a Bible passage with him every night. This exchange seemed fair to Jaden because Jaden also believed in the Lord. Where Jaden and his grandfather differed was:
Jaden’s grandfather believed you could only believe in the Lord, that these other beings Jaden learned about on the phone were of Babylon, that to contemplate them was to invite in evil energy–
and Jaden believed that if you believed in the Lord, you also had to believe in all of it.
And Jaden was learning so much.
